'93 Johnson 60hp reputation?

Hey guys I am considering repowering my 16' Starcraft with a motor that had power TNT. Right now I have a Merc 650 form '67 that runs great but I am always paranoid when I head more than a mile away from the dock. I want to get something a little newer and am tired of manually tilting my motor, and porpoising. I have access to a 93 60hp Johnny with power trim for $450. It does not come with controls. Any input guys or should I hold out for something a bit newer?

Find something newer and make sure it comes with all the controls and wiring harneses.
