93 Johnson Fast Strike 150 carb kit...

I have a 93 fast strike 150 and have carb kits to install. My question is... with the needle and seat screw underneath the float, there was no washer installed underneath the seat screw when I took the carbs apart. But, I noticed that there is a white/clear plastic washer that comes in the kit with the needle and seat assembly. Does this little washer need to be installed? When the washer is in place, the float arm has to be bent so that the float is level with the carb housing...(when held upside down). The float arm requires no bending to be level when the little washer is not in there. The manual shows no washer at all, but I have heard that it needs to be there. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks -

I had the same issue, and chose to leave the washer out, since adjusting the float with the washer installed was likely imposible. The carb kits cover a wide range of models and years. Your carbs do not likely need that washer.

I assume the motor ran fine without the washers installed? Thanks for the feedback.

Just as Chris mentioned, some use it , and others don't.

Installing the washer where it isn't call for, will completely screw up the float geometry and the motor may never run right.
