Just bought 1993 Boston Whaler Montauk 17' it has 1993 90hp Johnson V4 motor , Boat has not been run in 3 years, boat is in exceptional shape. Starts fine, idles fine, when we accelerate, it tops out at 2600rpms and about 15mph, when we push the throttle past 1/2 way to accelerate cant increase speed or rpms? its like the throttle stops working at mid way thru its travel? boat stays at about 2600rpms or 15mph , any suggestions would be appreciated ..Thank You !! boat is FIXED , the problem was , after taking a closer look at the linkage the secondary linkage was popped out of the socket. simple fix
