What does it take to add the alternator to this guy so I can charge up the batteries ?<br />All the brochures say it is "optional".

You have to remove the flywheel. You'll need the lighting coil kit and the battery charging kit. Sometimes the battery charging kit includes the lighting coil, but it varies by model.
