I recently bought my 19'6" Aquasport with a 1992 Johnson 140...seller claimed recently rebuilt..he said run 93 octane...I've run about 30 gallons thru it.It has a 50 gallon enclosed tank. Manf. says use 87 octane
1. should I begin using 87?
2. Am I doing damage if I burn the rest of the 93 out ? Or should I drain it out and start over with an 87 oct mix?...thanks

The only reason I can think is if he shaved the heads and increased the compression! (ask him) If not then you are just flushing money down the toilet! Also maybe even causing excesive carbon buildup!

Hasbeen

You can run out the 93. I would add the 30 gal of 87 that you have already used.
