Steven,

On mine, the trim piece is split down the middle and the halves just slide fore and aft to remove. Under that is a bracket and three screws that hold the whole business to the side panel.

Yep, I got it all wrapped and made the maiden voyage. Everything was going great until the alarm went off and woke me up (lol). I'll work on it some more tomorrow. I just wish I had 1/2 of your motivation. I took the kids skiing with the flat bottom today and that just ain't cool. Thanks, Steven

I would not have any motivation if I still had the Glastron. We would have been on it all weekend.

I made a little more progress this evening. At ths rate, it's kinda like paying the minimum on a credit card. You keep chugging along at it, but you never seem to get ahead. I waited until this evening to work on the boat and took it to the fire station after dark. It was not to bad. I rolled one of the large shop fans against the transom and let it blow through the outdrive hole. That worked pretty good at keeping things cool. I decided to go ahead and cut out the false floor that is under the fuel tank and it's a good thing that I did. The wood was still in pretty good shape but the foam was totally saturated with water. I managed to get the wood and foam out so now I just need to grind down the edges. Thanks, Steven

Just stopping by. Any progress?

I have made a little progress. I have the false floor area under the fuel tank ground down and most of the gel-coat is off of the floor. I also managed to get all of the old carpet removed from the sides. I bought a gallon of MEK in hopes of getting the glue removed tomorrow so I can sand off the gel-coat on the sides of the hull. While grinding in the bilge area, I got a little close to the small peice of wood that the bilge pump mounts to and went through the glass. Guess what, water started running out from under the wood. Now I have to finish grinding that peice of wood out and replace it. Hopefully, within the next month I will be able to start adding new wood. Thanks, Steven

Just saw your post on Frisco's thread your Road Runner sweet!!!!!! I have a 68 Satellite with a 383 I just love the sound of a BB/Hemi Mopars. Its too bad there were not more 383/440s used in marine industry.

Well, it has been a while since I have posted anything here. Last year was a pretty tough year. My daughter (14) had her forth heart surgery last March 2012 and in April 2012 my wife was diagnosed with breast cancer. Luckily they found it early. She had a double mastectomy, reconstructive surgery, and then fell on a heater and burned her butt pretty bad. She did not have to have any chemo or raditaion. Needless to say, the Sea Ray has been on the back burner. I was hoping to get it out of storage this year and start working on it again, but unfortionatly, I will be having rotator cuff surgery next month so I don't see much being done. I'll get it done one of thses days. Thanks, Steven
