I've got water running out of the the usual spots plus a lot of water coming out of top of the shaft housing towards the front of the engine. Seems to coming out right below the engine cowling by where the shifter hooks up. Could it be the water tube gromet not sealing? I've replaced the impeller, t-stat & head gasket. Don't know what to do next.
Thanks, Mike

Re: 93 suzuki DT85 water everywhere please help

Hi,
I had a Suzuki DT65 (1991) before (not so different compared to DT85) and the lower unit was removed once (impeller changed) and I remember that water tube and it's rubber seals at the upper end was tricky to get in place when mounting the lower unit back. My best guess is that it is not sealing in the upper end of the water tube.
I bought new rubber grommets for lower and upper end of the water tube when I put my lower unit back. Remember the water tube has a slight beend on it (at least DT65) and the tube must be rotated correctly to fit in upper end against the engine. It was two years ago I did the work on the DT65 so I may have missed to tell You some important thing when mounting the lower unit and water tube back but above is what I can remember.

Good luck!

I second Bo's answer. I have a 1987 DT85 and I just replaced the water tube. The DT85 grommets come with the water tube as a unit (about $15). The first time I installed it I wasn't careful and it wasn't lined up with the pump housing and I crushed the grommets and had to buy another. It does sound like either the top or bottom or both of the water tube is not sealing in its hole. The top of the water tube inserts into a hole at the base of the engine holder which sits between the driveshaft housing and the powerhead. The bottom of the water tube inserts into the waterpump housing.

Thanks for responding guys
I just pulled it apart again and the water tube is only about 12 inches long. Both gromets appear to be ok. Is there another at the power head and if so how do I go about checking that one?
