I have a 1993 yamaha 115 hp ran it today was out for an hour and a half running great then she started smoking so i shut it down and open the cowl. The oil was overflowing out of the main tank. got home emptied the tank switched the ignition to on.... Alarm was sounding red light blinking pump was pumping oil, as it went up the indicator lights went red alarm, yellow up to green like its suposed to so the float seems to be working however the pump didnt stop so i shut the ignition to off. Does it sound like it is the control unit?

it appears to be the float in the eng.tank isnt telling the pump to stop.,you can get a ohm meter and test ,but it seems to be logical problem, especially if the pump stops when you disconnet the unit in the eng.tank,it could also be a malfunction of the emergency fill switch,if the disconnectiong of the tank unit dont stop the pump, try disconnecting emg.switch

i tried both things and it continued to pump even with both disconected at the same time. I disconnected the harness from the remote tank and it stopped pumping, so now i dont know what else to check or where else to look
