Hey guys my 150 ran great when I flushed it out after a day on the water. After a week of sitting it wouldn’t start. Changed plugs and it started for a few minutes but now nothing. Motor turns over but won’t fire. Checked primary wire from power pack to #1 coil and only had 2.5V. My question is, would the power pack just completely fail like this or would it have random misfires? Is this a common issue?

Charge the battery and have battery load tested.-----No money spent to do that.

Thanks for your input. This is making me want to pull my hair out. The batteries are brand new and have been on a charger so I’m fairly certain it isn’t a battery issue. The motor has good speed when turning over and I get an occasional fire from a cylinder but it’s completely random and not enough to get it going. I’m used to working on cars for a living and when ignitors would go bad I’d get the same type of results. I followed the troubleshooting sequence chart in the service manual. I didn’t check the timing sensor because I don’t have an OMC Ignition Analyser (I’m guessing it’s similar to a noid light?/don’t have any of those either). I did the power pack test and the #1 primary wire from the power pack only read 2.5V while cranking. The manual says it should be 100V or higher. If not, replace power pack. I want to make sure I’m not possibly missing something before I start throwing money at it. Thanks for any and all help. ✌🏻
