today my outboard was running fine, and all of a sudden, like i hit a brick wall, it stopped running fine... all of a sudden, at full throttle, it just stopped, sputtered, and almost died. it ran ok at idle, and just a little past. but when i turned the throttle up, it just sputtered and jumped. it has new spark plugs, and has given me no trouble so far this year. i used seafoam spray to clean the carb, and let it idle for a while, cut it off, sprayed it again, let it soak, then ran it again (did this twice). i ran it in the backyard with a garbage can full of water, so i really coulnd't run it in gear, as the water would come out.<br />oh yeah, in neutral it will idle up to full throttle, but not when in gear. any ideas? i will give you more info if i can. i'm not a mechanic, but i love to tinker. i also do not have a manual, so i probably need to get one. thanks.
