94 90hp Mariner/Tracker on my 94 Nitro Fuel leak

First off, I'm very new to Boats and this is my first one. I've been around them and fished off them for years, but this is my first one that I own. I just bought this '94 Nitro 170-TF Bass Boat with a Mariner/Tracker 90hp Oil with the Oil injection system, and I noticed when I took it out of the water and trimmed it up to put the lower unit support bar in, that there was some fuel/oil mixture leaking a little bit out of the front lower cover where the fuel line connects to. I moved the fuel hose around and there is a small box there, I guess it's the piece that the fuel hose connects to, well it kinda moves around when jiggled. There is a bolt on the top that goes through the box thing, that looks loose to me. Would this bolt being loose, and able to move around cause a leak inside the hood where the fuel line connects, that would cause fuel/oil mix to run out of the "cowl" area into the well area in the rear of the boat?

Please Help!!

Thanks, and all information is Greatly Appreciated!!

A loose bolt wouldn't cause a fuel leak. I would replace the part its cheap enough. If you are new to a boat of your own then you will find out quick that if you don't repair things right and when they need to be done that paddling is no fun. Its not like when your car brakes down. There no walking home. Coming from someone who has learned a hard way.

I just didn't know if it moving around might would cause a leak. I am smart enough to know that just a bolt loose won't cause a leak. Any idea as to where it might be coming from? The motor runs great with no running issues at all. It just has that leak somewhere that runs out from the cowl area on the front of the motor when trimmed up, for transport.

If the throttle is open it could be coming right out of the carb. I had the same problem this weekend. Sorry I though you ment a fuel line was leaking. You will be able to slowly see small drips come right out of the carb if this is the case.

No the motor Runs great, and has no running/ driving issues. Takes the gas fine, on and off plane. It just leaks a little gas/oil mixture out of the cowl area after the motor is shut off, and trimmed up and pulled out of the water.

I even went as far as this evening I put on the muffs and pulled the hood off and cranked it here in the yard, trimmed almost all the way down, and I couldn't see any leaks anywhere. The rest of the Motor is clean as a pin. I shut the motor off and trimmed it up and after a minute or so, volia some gas/oil mix runs out onto the inside of the transom area of the boat.

From doing some reasearch on here, it seems that most Mariners, and Mercury's have this same problem.

I guess I want to know if there is a fix for it. It sure makes a mess in the inside well area on the transom of my Bass Boat!
