I have a 94 Bayliner with a 94 Force 120. I took the boat out today for the first time after being winterized for the winter. It started fine and took the boat for a couple of laps. After a few laps I stopped the motor and I sat there for a while. When I went to start it, I pushed the throttle all the way forward. The gears were not engaged at this point but the motor was running. As soon as I pulled it back into neutral it would die. And I could never get it to start in the neutral position. I think I got it to start once in the neutral position, and then I was able to put it forward and go. I hope this makes sense to someone.
Thanks.

Re: 94 Force 120 shutting off

Re: 94 Force 120 shutting off

So the boat has been sitting since last night at 6pm and around 5pm today I went ahead and started the motor. I first disengaged it by putting the throttle all the way down and it started just fine. Then I brought back the throttle to the neutral position, and then forward just a bit and it run fine. I shut it off and then started it at the neutral position this time and it started just fine again. I'm not sure if it's making me look like a fool because I'm off the water with no load or my problem just simply went away. Any ideas? Please help.

I did checked the spark plugs and they're all clean.
