Mileage should be better than that, I get 16 mpg on my Ford f150, and 18-22 with my 93 Grand Cherokee with 4.0. It is my understanding that the V8s were on a par or slightly better on economy for whatever reason. That generation of Jeep has a lot of gee-wiz electronics that can get goofy, but it seems that the most problems I have seen are with the 4.0 jeeps. I have replaced the computer and fuel pump, the front rotors warp if you look at them wrong, but at the same time it has been a stout vehicle, and is truely useful off-road. Most 4x4 suvs are more of a "winter rig" than true offroad worthy vehicles, the Jeeps can take a beating offroad and the aftermarket is huge. I wouldn't even worry about the mileage, just make sure it runs well and does not leak fluids out of every crack and crevice. Good luck...

The 318 was a tough engine and that is what you have in the 5.2 multi port injection.

If equipped right, has a tow rating of 6500#'s
Might have 4 wheel disk brake too.
I think they use what is called the mulitrack 4 wheel drive system which is an all time 4 wheel drive basically.

As far as price, he is way cheap on it.
The figures are,
$3,425-low retail
$4,600-middle retail
and $5,450-high retail

http://www.fueleconomy.gov/ best source to check on anticipated mileage. Consider that those tests are done under controlled coditions and are based on 45% city 55% highway. I would also suggest you search on http://www.autotrader.com/ for Jeeps in your price range and with lower miles. I would be hesitant to tow with that many miles unless the transmission has been well serviced at a regular basis.

Bob
