Hey guys, I'm lost on dropping the lower unit on my motor. I removed the bolts and unhooked the linkage, it'll move about 6 inches and stops. What am I missing?

You have to slide the upper nut up on the rod.----You will then see a black plastic tapered piece.----That piece is split and must be removed.

Good lord! Look at that impeller! Any ideas where all this oil is coming from?

Looks like classic case of a motor started up with no water to the pump !

Getting a new impeller tomorrow.... Other than that anything I should worry about? Motor crank and ran fine this morning, less than a minute when I realized there was no stream

Almost looks like that was a new impeller housing recently.---Make sure that the heat has not melted any plastic on that housing.---Perhaps a new housing and cup would be wise.

OK.. New impeller installed but I only have a drip instead of a stream! Help! What's the first thing to check? I'm thinking I need to stop the lower again, make sure the new impeller is OK, then maybe try to put the hose in the leg and rinse out any gunk from the old impeller

Going to start a new thread since this is no longer a lower unit drop issue
