Don't see anything in my manual that reffers to my engine having a quick start system on it. Would like to soon attempt the Joe Reeves method and time the motor. Anyone know if I need to be concerned about my year motor and Joe's timing method? If all goes well she just might get wet this weekend. Thanks

I retired some years before that engine was manufactured so I'm not aware of its design, however I feel confident that it does have the quick start feature.

Easiest way to know one way or the other if that engine has a quick start
feature is...........

Prime the fuel primer bulb, do not advance the throttle at all, turn the key to start and push the key in if needed to prime the engine.

When the engine starts, if the rpms are higher than normal for a short period of time, then the idle rpms drop to normal as the engine reaches a certain temperature, the engine has the quick start feature. If this is the case, the timing method I spoke of cannot be used unless that feature is disabled.

I'll let someone else answer that question.

The old posts seem to say that I need to disconnect the blk/wht from the pack and ground it to the block. I'll try that. The sending units on my motor are run to brown wires on the harness, one on each crossflow head. Since the motor is a fresh rebuild I just want it close enough to get me thru the first few hrs of break in before attempting WOT.
