Took the boat to a new lake, didn't realize it was over an hour on a gravel road to get there.

Did not start easy that afternoon, started very rough actually. Ran fine, but started rough. I popped the shroud and it was full of dust. I suspect it is the root of the problem.

Any informed advice on the next step? I was thinking carb cleaner in the fuel.

'94 what?

The dust is not likely to be in the parts affected by carb cleaner in the fuel.

Get an engine cover for towing in dusty conditions.

As long as engine is off and the dust blowing around wouldnt of affected the engine starting in any way or the dust from road on engine. Was it a cool morning? Maybe engine needed more time to warm up. Yes, do cover the motor tight next time for piece of mind. Happy Cruising!
