does your speedo have problem registering til higher speed? mine doesn't register til almost at top speed.. i want to replace my gauges anyways but thinking may have to get gauges around whatever speedo system fits best on my boat

You don't need a jackplate. The smart tabs will everything you need. As for the speedo registering correctly, I went to the paddle wheel type and mounted it on the back of the Smart Tabs, since they are always in contact with the water. The problem with the hull design is that step from the pad causes turbulants and doesn't give a clean place to put the pilot tube type speedo.

When I lived in the Seattle area, I had my mine (With just myself and fuel) up to 58 MPH. WAY TOO FAST!!! I got it down to 48 with the RPM's at 6k even, but there wasn't anyone I couldn't pull up on a single ski (As long as they were able to hold onto the rope that is).

don't think i have the right prop- actually feels better with the aluminum prop i have ( wish i could find a part # on it! ) going to confirmed tomorrow- but with the apollo 17 pitch i have- tops out at about 40mph...if so local prop repair place should be able to tell me what it is and go from there...wish my tach was functional!! gotta love boat dealers! lol < long story!
