How about something like this? http://dallas.craigslist.org/dal/boa/1926771615.html older and a little more money, but sounds well maintained and is running, and the owner will give you a test drive. Still should have it checked out before the final sale. You would probably have way more money into the Bayliner than you would have to pay for this ready to go boat. There are lots of good boats out there, especially this time of year. Just another .....opinion:D

Not a bad looking boat...I do want a bowrider but what about that motor.... I cant help but think I should look for something with more power (it's the hotrod guy thing)

Yeah season is almost over.. People will be selling their tubs for extra money.. You will find some good deals on craigslist. That's where I got mine.. Boats are picky about sitting for some time.. Fuel goes bad, and engine will seize up.. The more someone runs it the better off they are.. I had a ol 72 Johnson. I ran 3 times a week.. It is older than I am and it would fire off and run like a champ cause I used it regular.. So try and find something like in the above link.. Where the owner wants newer and or larger.. How much do u have to spend?

I wouldnt want to spend more than about 5-6K total...just wanting to make sure that I'll use it enough to be worth while, then maybe upgrade

Well the 18ft Bayliner will not be enough..Now remember the bigger the displacement the more fuel she will use.. You may have to go 21ft. 8 people will go in my 17ft, but it wouldn't be fun.. As far as power goes. Maybe you should look in to a V6 and even a V8.. More displacement, more fuel consumption.

for that kind of money you should be able to get an older 18-19 footer with a 4.3 v6 or a small v8. An older boat that has been well maintained can be better than a newer one that has not. Your best bet is take your time and look at a lot of boats. Don't even consider one that is not running, and taking it out for a test run is a really, really good idea. The upholstery will tell you a lot, cracked and weathered says it has sat outside unprotected, tough on floors, they can soak up water and rot. Before you seal the deal have it checked out by a qualified tech. HO, you don't want a boat that will fit in too many relatives:D.

LOL yep cause for some reason the phrase " taken the boat out" makes friends and family come out of the wood work... You have plenty of money to buy a nice running boat... Boat shopping is fun, so get after it..
