I hope you get as much enjoyment from yours as my family does ours.

On the trailer - I cleaned up some surface rust and touched up mine with a can of rust-o-leum(sp?). It matched the pacific blue on my trailer *exactly*. I swear, the factory must have used the same paint. If they did, you may find a rust-o-leum can that matches yours as well. I did mine over a holiday weekend when I could leave the boat in the water for a couple of days.

so, how bout painting the trailer with the boat loaded?? I know it would be better off.. but I dont have another trailer on spot on water to leave it.. I assume if I mask it off it will be ok..

I wish there was a way to get those stripes back on the trailer... they appear hand painted. I thought at first they were vinyl pinstripes... any recommendations?

I'd have to rec. to get the boat off the trailer...gives you a better look at it, can do more inspecting, and keeps the paint off...but it is very possible to do it with it on, just be careful.

Those stripes just look taped...find the right width tape, and tape it off, should be pretty easy but time consuming.

The stripes are hand painted. I haven't seen the need to repaint mine yet (my touch ups were only on the bunk supports and cross members). If I do, I'm just going to but a can of white enamel paint and hand paint them myself. It's a no brainer as long as you put down a guide of masking tape to follow. You could always use the pre-fab pin stripes too.
The rustoleum has held up well for the two years I've had it on. I need to repaint one bunk support. But that's only because I didn't prep it properly and the rust I was repairing bubbled up under the paint.
I can't imagine trying to paint a trailer with the boat still on it. You can remove it at home. there are several threads on how to do so.

o yeah they are hand painted... I thought they were vinyl at first... but a close look shows the paint strokes...

I have a friend who does pinstriping for hotrods... wonder if he will do my trailer. ... and my boat.. lol.
