'95 Mariner Magnum 200 - removed oil injection - warning module question

I just removed the oil injection from my '95 Mariner 200 EFI, and removed the warning module on the top rear of the motor. Another module was stacked on top of the warning module, I assume it's the detonation module. The two modules were separated by a metal plate and some small spacers. My question is, now that I've removed the oil warning module, is there any need for the metal plate and spacers that separated them? Thanks

What made you decide to remove the oil injection? I have an 87 that is acting erractic and have considered doing the same.

I just did it for peace of mind. I've never had a motor with oil injection so I'm used to premixing. I've searched many sites and the feelings on removing the oil injection system are split between keeping it for convienience or removing it for reliability. I just feel better knowing I'm not relying on a system that might possibly fail, no matter how remote a chance that is. At least this way I know if it's getting fuel, it's getting oil.
