I have a 95 Bayliner with 3.0 Mercruiser on it. My boat start and runs fine about an hour or so and then it starts to loose power, it stalls and if I lower the rpm it will run for some time then it stalls before dying. It will re-start again for few times but then it dies completely. It may start the next day.
I have added a fuel and water seperator thinking that might be the problem but.... that's not the case. I have read threads from changing Ignition modules to coils, spark plugs, the leaks at Carb, replacing plastic fuel supply to carb to steel and so.
I really need help from where to start. Just imagine a nice warm day with plenty of food and bait 8) and you are trying to find a nice fishing spot and your boat dies:%. it had happend couple of times last season and I don't want it to repeat. :'(Please help.
The egine has 200 hours on it. I am not sure if that is alot.
Thanks for all your time

There is a filter inside the fuel pump thats should be pretty nasty buy now as well as one in the carb were the fuel line connects

BUT you need to see if your loseing spark when it will not run OR if you have a fuel problem

Then you can correct it :)

Throwing parts at it is not the answer.

When you can't get it started check to see if you have gas at the motor, a spark, etc. You need to narrow it down some. Right now it could be a number of things.

Follow the above advice.....
A coil on its way out will act funny.....
Especially when it gets hot....;)

The filter in the fuel pump is hard as rock and I have never changed the one in Carb. Good start will be to replace both. I have checked the prices on the coil and it is not that expensive I can replace that too. The boat can runb on muffs for hours but in water it cuts off.
I will de-winterize it in April and seek all your help. Thanks so much for your quick replies

I am replying after quite some time, the guys at the forum guided me in right direction, it was the coil that was bad, I used the boat next season without isuses and after that I sold it.

Thank you all.
