I have a 95 Mercury 150hp Carb. While out on the water last weekend I got a low oil alarm (beep,Beep...). I checked the reservoirs and found no problems. I did not run the motor. After returning, did a compression check all 6 are ok 115-117psi. I changed the fuel line to a 5gal mix 50:1 mixture and started the engine. Still getting the oil alarm, and noticed it was running rough. I checked to see if it was firing on all cylinders and found that one side was not firing (Port Side). It was using oil during the day because of the lower than full reservoir that I started with. I did notice that the engine was not smoking like normal before getting the premix into the system.
Any Ideas?
Thank you!

The oil alert gets it's indication that the engine is running from the #2 spark coil drive. If it isn't firing, the alarm will sound. It's all the same problem. It'll either be a switchbox or a stator. Check it out with a DVA

hope it helps
