96 40 merc 4 cyl 2 cylinders not firing

Working on a used 4 cyl merc,when i got it no spark,previous owner claimed power pack went out.
Power pack/switch box
Replaced power pack with a used one from a running 40 magnum.
All 4 cylinders were firing for test run.
Today i launch and was only able to get above idle,anything more and she would die.
Fired right back up.
I picked up and got home to investigate.
120 psi on all 4 cylinders
Top 2 cylinders not making fire ,swapped coils around to rule out bad coils....still no fire from top 2 coils.
So before i spend money on a power pack.....could anything else be causing this issue?

A bad stator or rectifier can destroy a good power pack. But I'm afraid that I don't have enough information on your engine to direct you to the proper test procedures for them.

I swapped out rectifier......face in palm.....sold a new stator 3 days ago.
I was reading on another thread about the trigger coils on the stator not sending signal to power pack to ignite coil.

Also a possibility.
See if you can find a manual for your engine here http://boatinfo.no/lib/library.html# and get the test procedures.

Thats what i figured,2 triggers wouldnt drop out at same time.
