Any help would be appreciated! I'm a 'computer' guy by trade, so I've tried to troubleshoot as much as possible so please forgive me if I provide too much info (I'm used to people not providing enough!)

Motor will not start using normal procedures.

Very low usage motor (only 155 total hours), on last outing, ran out of fuel, but ran fine after refueling. Motor has sat unused/unstarted for past 2 months.

Primer bulb gets firm, but loses firmness after several starting attempts. Noticed fuel leaking from vapor separator cover when squeezing bulb, replaced vapor separtor cover gasket, no more leaking, still won't start.

If choke is applied manually on the primer silenoid, fuel will leak around the switch when squeezing primer bulb, but does not leak if manual choke is left in normal position (is this a real worry?)

Followed starting procedures as posted in site FAQ, engine fired almost right up (unwarranted elation on my part!) but died as applied fuel was spent.

I then was able to keep the motor running indefinetly by intermittently pushing in the key to apply choke when it sounded like it was about to die (about every 2-3 seconds).

I'm pretty mechanical, I've done all the normal maintainence service on this motor, rebuilt and rejetted carbs on my motorcycle (VFR 750), so if a carb rebuild is in order I'm not too worried, but I'm just not sure if I've yet ruled out the VRO pump. I'm guessing that if I could keep the engine running with the intermittent choke, then it's likely ok, but I've gotten burned by many of my 'guesses' in the past so I thought I would ask the experts first.

If you do suggest a carb rebuild, any advice? Where's the best source for a carb kit, if there is one for this motor?

I love these forums and have 'lurked' here for years gaining so much practical assitance I feel indebted to all the regulars who assist everyone so much!

Thanks in advance.

Alex
