96' Force 120 timing is set TDC at idle; correct setting?

I've got a 96' force 120 outboard and just changed out the trigger. Upon installing the new one, I figured the timing had to be readjusted since the trigger was removed and reinstalled. I don't have the manual but I used the timing marks on the top of the engine and the lines on the flywheel as a reference. I used an automotive timing light on wire #1 and noticed that the timing was set perfectly at TDC (0 degrees) when I had the engine idle with the muffs on it. I seen some posts where they set it at WOT but I can't unless I lake it to the lake. I'm trying to set everything before I go out on my next trip. Can anyone let me know if it is set correctly or how I can do it if it needs readjusted?

I'd set it at 2-4 ATDC to make sure it isn't too advanced when you hit WOT on the water to make final adjustments.

Thanks for the reply. Any chance you have how many degrees it should be set at for WOT? Also, should I set it in or out of gearing when I'm in the water?

My manual says 32BTDC for static and 30BTDC for dynamic. I don't trust my Seloc manual...It also has misspellings. I think it should be 32 for dynamic and 30 for static. Check with someone like Frank or Jerry they are much more experienced.
