I have this nice little very low use '96 Force 5hp(made in Mexico) that will not start cold. If I squirt a little pre-mix fuel into the plug hole it fires right up on one pull and runs great. Once warm it restarts every time. As soon as it sits and gets cold it won't start.
I have replaced the fuel pump gaskets/diaphram and the cleaned the carb and replaced the flange gasket. I even pulled off the reed housing behind the carbs and inspected and cleaned the petals etc. It has great spark and compression btw.
There is a push button primer on the motor that the instructions say...pull the choke and pump the primer one time to start. Could that be the problem...that is...when that is pumped does it draw fuel into the carb and the crank case and could it possibly be defective with a pin hole in it or something?
Priming it isn't that big an issue but for the fact the the cowl has to be removed which also has the starter recoil through it and using a plug wrench and carrying around a squirt bottle with pre-mix ...its all too inconvenient.
Great little motor when it starts.
Ideas please.
Thanks,
Tim
