I have a 1996 force/gamefisher 15 hp. I just got the motor this past spring from my uncle. The motor had less than an hour on it and was beautiful shape. This last season i followed the break in process and its good to go. instead of winterizing i figured id store the motor in my heated basement. I ran it out of gas with some sta-bil additive in the gas and changed the lower unit oil. I noticed it being dusty from sitting there and i am going to clean it off and i opened the cowling and there is a lot of white deposits on all the black metal parts inside there. Im not sure what that is but i can wipe it off and im thinking about cleaning it all off and spraying the whole thing down with wd-40 is that a bad idea or what?? this motor runns verry well i havent ever had to pull it 2 times to start i just want it to look as good as i can keep it. WD-40 a bad thing or not??
