I have a 96 Johnson 112 v4 2 stroke outboard that bogs down when giving throttle. I found if I put the motor in netural and increase my RPMs and shift it back into gear it will run without bogging out.
yesterday the motor gave me a hard time starting at the dock and once I got it going and headed out the motor seemed to run like it was only working in 2 cylinders.
Also when coming back into at low speeds 2-3 mph the motor wanted to stall out.
Here is what I have done so far to rule out the common issues.
compression check 130 each
Carbs: removed cleaned and cleaned all lines
Fuel tank dumped and re fueled with new gas, ethanol treatment and some seafoam.
Fuel primer kit replaced
I Squeezed the bulb when the motor was bogging down but it did nothing.
new plugs and wires
Do you think it could be the coils?
Any ideas?
