I am working on this outboard and noticed that the prop washer [# 30] in the attach drawing went missing

Can some one tell me if the ID hole in it ,went over the end of the clutch hub [#26] or over the shaft [#17] and up against the clutch hub. I also need to know if the prop clutch ring {#27] fit snug, or kinda loose on the hub [mine seems loose]

#26 goes over the shaft. Actually, I don't think it gets close to the clutch hub if the #28 is in there
Rubber ring is a tight fit in the prop, which will squeeze it down a tad onto the hub. It is designed to hop over a bump on the hub if you whack an underwater obstruction.

Ok, if I am understanding this correctly , that means if I measure along the length of the splines on the hub #26,and then measure the length of splines on the rubber clutch ring #27, the clutch ring should be slightly longer. Am I getting that correct?

Never personally bothered to measure anything. If the parts are all there, it will be correct. But what I'm saying is with the hub and rubber in place, the end of the hub probably won't extend all the way out to the flat on the prop, where the washer lies.

Those rubber rings do get old and hard, and should be replaced if you want the protection from them.

My hub does extend past the end of the prop [about 1/16th] that is why I am trying to find out if the hub went through the washer, or if the washer went over the output shaft and up to the hub. I have a few feelers out in other web sites asking for measurements of the diameter of the hole in the washer , and the overall length of the rubber clutch ring. hopefully some kind soul will forward me that info. thanks for the help so far .

The hub should not protrude beyond the prop. So, now I"m forced to guess. My guesses are:
1. Part # 300619 bushing missing
2. Wrong hub. Lightwin uses 376679, Yachtwin uses 379466
3. Wrong rubber ring. Lightwin uses 300565, Yachtwin uses 310331

Admittedly, now the measurements become a valid question.

Remove the rubber ring and slip just the bushing and prop onto the hub. You will then see what stops it from going on too far. Obviously, the Yachtwin prop is unique, so we can assume there is no problem there. As far as I know, there is only one bushing, so let's assume that is ok too. That leaves the hub. (??????)

Lots of assuming here, I guess.

Maybe I'm ignoring there were different Yachtwins in different years. Also a similar 5hp.

That's about all I know.

yachtwin-arrow3.gif Right now, as it sits, the bushing is only centering the hub, on the prop nut end of the assembly . The hub can be inserted through the rubber prop ring, into the into the prop. It stops only when the large ring area on the housing end contacts the prop [see the arrow] part #28 the bushing goes through the prop and ends up flush on the prop nut side. Perhaps the flange on the bushing should be thicker, to act as the stop for the hub? I am still waiting for the other sources to respond, Thanks again, I will get to the bottom of this before boating season here in the northeast.
