97 Crownline 225ccr doesn't have a bow anchor locker?? Am I missing something?

Thanks for reading this, I'm really surprised I bought a 97 Crownline 225 CCR that is a fantastic boat except for one glaring omission, NO BOW ANCHOR LOCKER! I use my boat a lot, and I like to anchor, stay over night or just be able to sit out on a busy sunday and not have to adjust position every 15 minutes. I guess my only choice is to pull the anchor out of the back, haul it (with 100 ft of rope) to the bow and tie it off, with 80 ft of dirty robe just out in the way ( not to mention when your done hauling a wet dirty robe and anchor back across the whole boat) Am I missing something? Is there another solution I'm missing? Just seem like a huge inconvenience to live with for a boat considered to be at the upper end of the quality scale. I had a 21ft Welcraft cuddy prior to this and it had the locker.
I think I know, the answer and i'll just have to deal with it but I figured I'd ask all of you savy boat buddies before I resolve to curse the sky everytime I pull my anchor out. Thanks

I was surprised that my boat didn't come with a 3rd pontoon :)

Did you buy it sight unseen or something?

Good reason to carefully check EVERYTHING buy what works for you instead of buying "upper end of the quality scale" and assuming it will have everything you want..... ... At least this mistake will stick with you and you won't make it again on the next boat.

When the tragedy of the discovery eases up on you there are plenty of options from anchor winches and windlasses to ways to handle the anchor at the stern but attach at the bow.

You can always secure it to the bow rail (not tie it off to the bow rail when anchored) or I have seen people put a plastic storage box up front. Strange it would have nothing up there. Can you post a photo of the bow?

Not unusual on older cuddy's to not have a bow anchor locker. Our old Sea Ray did not either. Just carry it up there and tie it off.
Not really that much of a hassle. We did it for 9 years without an issue. When laziness comes into play. Just drop the anchor over the side, and walk the line to the bow to tie it off.

Crownline didn't add them until early to mid 2000's. I don't have one on mine either but with the open bow I just put it under the front cushion.

You have two strikes against you, first is the age of your boat and second is the size, small Cuddy's don't always have them today much less 15 odd years ago and space is a premium, my boat is 3 years newer then yours and I have one but my boat is two feet larger.

Yea, definitely questioning if you knew this during the buying process. :noidea:

I had an older 24 foot cuddy and had the same situation. If you are adventurous and handy, you could do something like what I did . . . See link below.

That is pretty bold cutting a hole in the topside of a deck!

My 21ft Bowrider could certainly use an anchor locker if for no other reason to keep things neat and tidy. We store the anchor in the ski locker. It doesn't hinder my usage of the boat or anchoring in any-way.

Yea, I posted a thread about doing the anchor locker a few years ago . . . lots of folks were amazed that I would cut a hole in the deck like that . . . :) . what could possibly go wrong :noidea: ???

So, much easier than shlepping the anchor out of the ski locker, etc. Fortunately, my current boat has a locker.
