It may have prime start or it may have a choke, either way it needs to be working. The starting procedure should be pump primer bulb until hard, choke or (fully automatic prime start), throttle lever in closed position, crank on motor about 3 seconds, stop for a few seconds, then crank on motor again to try and start it. Don't crank for more than 5 seconds at a time to save battery. The prime start is a solenoid-looking unit on the middle carb with a small plastic lever on it. If it's not prime start then it has a choke which must work. Good Luck!:)

im having the same issues, im having to advance my throttle for the boat to fire up!!!! was told by machanic that some boats require a higher rpm to get the boat started. this is the first time ive heard of advancing the throttle, but it sure does work....

Most motors with chokes need to have the fast idle lever raised a little while choking to allow enough air and fuel to reach the cylinders properly when cold starting

no, advancing the throttle is actually increaing motor rpm with out putting your boat in gear. theres a button at the bottom of the throttle handle that needs to be pushed in while increasing the throttle alittle. then go through your starting procedures and see if that helps....good luch
