Hi guys a newbie here.I have a 97 johnson 50 hp 2 cyl that is not getting spark, what should i check first. and how should i check it? by the way this site is great!!!. thank you all
If you get not spark to either cylinder then check the wires going to the powerpack/coils. Unhook coils/powerpack and clean the grounds.I do not have a manual for your engine but you need to pick one up. OEM is best. Check ebay. There are manuals available right here at iboats too.
thanks for the reply fireman! it is not getting spark to any cylinder, last time out it ran great and now 2 week later no spark at all. I will double check all connections..
I already checked lanyard, all the grounds and disconected the black/yellow wire to goes on the power pack to rule out the ignition switch, but still no spark.... should I be looking at a new power pack?
