I was refueling my boat and put 2stroke oil in first and then gas. Left the dock and it shut off off tried starting and would only turn over. Inspected the motor and found pure 2stroke oil in the carburetor bowls. towed it home and got all the oil out the carbs and fuel line and I put it back together and still will not start. Has anyone had this problem? I feel like I’m missing something I didn’t check.

Always always always mix the fuel & oil in jug first before adding to the fuel-tank!
Make a new batch & flush this through the carbs run the engine to clean it out

When you syphon out the contents and shake it in jerry can and pour it back in fuel tank add properly mixed fuel/oil (50:1) to fuel tank you should be ok

A 30 gal tank would be hard to mix properly, if you add all the oil first.

I would add some oil, then some gas, then some oil... say 1 pint oil and six gallons of gasoline, then 1 pint oil, six gal gasoline....

At this point, I would expect your current fuel to be well mixed......

No need to mix in a separate tank.-------Add oil then the fuel coming in will mix it all up.-----Post #1 is missing some information.----Was tank completely empty ?------How long have you owned the boat ?-----First time that you added the oil before adding the fuel ?

???? Why not mix the fuel already in the jerry-can(s); they are usually the means of the fuel source already before its goes into the boat's fuel-tank. (unless you fill up at a gas station)
