Okay my maxum with a 120 force is bogging when I try to hit it it wont go past 3000 rpms, also I got the manual did what it said to test the stator the results are green/white to white .733 on ohm 2k on the yellow to yellow it is nothing. one of the yellow connectors looks like it melted and is black it also melted the other yellow not as bad and the red wire to the rectifier the rectifier black to yellow was 9.56 on both the black to yellow and grey to yellow were nothing,
Were should I go from here?

Sounds like you are running on three cylinders. Use an inductive timing light and see what cylinder is not firing properly. You may also check the color codes of the stator, trigger and coils to make sure someone doesn't have it wired wrong.

When it is in neutral it revs up just fine, the wiring looks like it is factory done I have had the boat for 6 years. I am the second owner the first never even used the boat that is why he sold it. up till this Saturday it worked great then it just started bogging while I was skiing behind it. the fuel pump seems to be pumping gas at a steady rate. the carbs bowls both are getting gas outside of taking it back up to the lake And switching the 4 coils around to test them is there another way? as for the stator and rectifier do you think one of them could be bad?

The first thing to do is to pull the plugs and ground the shell with small jumper wires that you can get from Radio Shack. Make sure they are grounded well and easy to see.

Next, using another jumper, connect the jumper to the yellow wire on the starter solinoid. Now, make sure you can see your plugs but are far enough away from the flywheel so you don't get hurt.

Turn the key to the on position. Next, touch the big terminal on the solinoid that comes from the battery. This will rotate your engine and allow you to watch the spark of the plugs. You are looking for almost constant blue sparks on each plug. Note any that are orange and report back.

If you have someone to help you, you can eliminate jumping the solinoid and have them turn the key to the start position.

Well John I dont have a clue what I did but everything was checking out so I decided to take it up and lake test it again. It ran fine didnt miss a beat so I dont know if I had a loose wire that wasnt connecting or something stuck it a jet on the carb but all is well thanks for your input.
