I bought the boat knowing there was something up with the motor and now I'm trying to figure out what that is.

Previous owner took it in for service due to milky oil, I have a receipt wich says shop put new head gasket on and no visable head warpage or damage. Fired up after head gasket and oil went milky again.

So thats where I come in, I just pulled the exaust manifold and it had rusty water in all four exhaust and intake ports. I also noticed that he exaust manifold has the tell tailed yellow marker numbers on it from a salvage yard so it's not orignal for sure.

Also the exhast gasket doesn't look like it's been removed at all so I'm wondering how you change the head gasket without removing the exhaust manifold.

So my questions are what is the easist way to figure out if the head or block is cracked, my thought is the head since I have water above and below the cylinders.

Thanks for any advise.

Sounds like you have freeze damage. Cracked block and cracked manifold. Does the shop you went to work on boats very often? It's seldom a head gasket causing milky oil.

No, it happened during last season sometime but, the mechanic where he was taking it probably isn't the best around.

I'm thinking I just buy a new motor and manifold to be safe.
