Question for the maritime gurus. At what pressure does the pressure valve open on this engine? Have replaced impeller. checked the T-stat and pressure valve for sticking but both are good. Tried flushing water through the water tube and no water coming through. Only get a drip from the water outlet running on hose and in the water at the boat ramp. Ran up to 2k rpms in neutral with no change. Ran for 30 min.s with lower unit in a tub at 1500 rpms. Not overheating but not stream.

Use a guitar string and clear the blockage

Problem Solved. Almost emptied the air compressor blasting it out. Would still like to know at what pressure the pressure valve opens and what temp setting the T-stat is as this is not my motor and I don't have the service manual for it yet

I think the suzuki rudes had a 160. I dint think there is a pressure poppet but i could be wrong. I live aand work in fresh water and gave not had to change onw yet.

Thanks for the input. Yeah these have a poppet or pressure valve on the right side of the case next to the exhaust manifold. I was hoping that I could get it working without having to take the water manifold covers off and clean it out.
