hey all I need some help here. I have a 98 force 50 on my pontoon boat. 2 weeks ago I replaced the starter because it wasn’t starting it would engage the starter and maybe get a half turn on the flywheel. It worked great that day after that. Started and stopped probably 10 times. My brother went out the next day and back to the same thing. We changed the solenoid today and that didn’t change. My brother while messing with it got it to crank but only if he takes the top plug out. It will fire on one cylinder but only with one plug in not both. With both plugs it the starter will pop like it wants to turn it and that’s it maybe a half turn on the fly wheel. What should I look at next? I had plans to take it out the next few days and they kinda went out the window now. I appreciate any and all help. Thanks

Sounds more like the battery is not at a full charge causing low voltage to the starter. The battery should be tested and a test of the charging system of the motor needs to be done. If the motor has ever had to be jumped and the rectifier was still hooked up, there is a good chance that the rectifier could be blown not letting the battery get a full charge.
