starts w/ little effort but coughs every 3 seconds (plenty of spark) and takes 15-25 seconds to get my 17 ' proline on plane sometimes stalls on forward shift .....<br /><br />thanks for all help .....

First thing to check is your idle timing. A too retarded timing will cause that on your motor. If that doesn't cure it then Here's what I would do. First, tear down the carbs and give them a good soaking and thoruogh cleaning of all jets/orifices and passageways. Rebuild them with new kits. Then do a link & sync as per a factory manual.

My 2000 90hp did exactly that. A compression check showed a bad cylinder. It was 75psi versus 135 everywhere else.

thank you very much i'll check the timing and the carbs (soak) im gonna do this work myself is there anything specific i might need for the carb soaking?<br /><br />i have heard of running seafoam are you familiar with that stuff?<br /><br />i'm not ready for the bad cylinder news but ....
