I needed plugs for this Jet Ski I just bought, I replaced them with what was in it, NGK B9ES, as I am looking around I see some stuff says NGK BR9ES, can anyone shed some light on this? thanks, Pete
use the specified plug, it' possible that elecrical noise thrown off by using the non-resistor variety will cause problems. When the guy at the auto parts store says they are the same, don't believe them
trust in "NMPeter" use only the NGK BR9ES and try to get the solid top plug, the more common ones have a threaded tip that will vibrate loose and turn into a black powdery mess, eventually the top of the plug will get stuck in the blue spark plug cap, not fun to dig out. same price, try a motorcycle shop, alot of auto parts stores will try to sell you something close. thanks. av
+1 on the solid tip plugs. The threaded type can actually uncrewthemselves and while it's ahrd to believe, I've had two of them that had come loose hole in one into adjoining clyinders when I've pulled off the plug caps. And of coruse being made out of aluminum, I had to pull the head to get them out ( and boy did that cost me some time..I tried everything to fish them out too...
I try to carry only solid tip plugs when I can get them, you won't find them in most auto parts store applications. In those cases a drop of red threadlock goes a long way to sleeping better.
