Not being a Smart Arse, but get a manual. My son has a '95 150 and it seems to be two engines hooked to one common crank.

Need to understand what Merc did in driving those two separate engines.

Yes i have a manual, i have the basics down, but it does not explain what the idle stabalizer does or to test the idle stabalizer which is connected to the switch box. also the lube module is also directly connected to the 2,4,6, switch box which is the one in question,if they malfunction will they effect the voltate going to the coils,
by the way i am a master ASE auto tech so i have the mechanical know how,

2-4-6 are common to 1 side of the stator--quick test switch the red and red/white wires and the blue and blue/white wires, the problem move it's the stator, if not it's probably the switch box. Be sure the connections are clean

Mark the design that you ask about has always been in Merc 6 cyls. it is to better the chance of a engine getting you off the lake even when its broken. Kiekhafer took credit for it I think it was Charlie Strang after all he built the first inline 6 while Carl was of racing. The early 6 cyls had 3 carbs--3--2cyls engines, duel ign 2--3 cyl engines and 2 fuel pumps one common to each of the bottom 2 sets of cyls so a ruptured dia. could only effect 2 cyls and the engine could come home on the other pump

I think the oil warning module only links to one coil, not three.Which makes me ask if your manual is Mercury or not.If you don't have a good manual ...... kinda like a test light with a burned out bulb.
