Hello All,
I ordered and received the water pump replacement kit for my '99 115.
I'm pretty mechanically inclined, so I feel like I should be able to accomplish this as everything I've read says it's pretty straightforward and not overly difficult.

Aside from replacing the water pump, I'm also going to go ahead and change out the L/U fluid while I'm at it. The last time I did that was about... 35 hours or so ago. And I will also go ahead and replace the Zinc Anode while it's apart.

Back to the impeller change. I know the lower unit will need to be dropped to service this. This is where my question comes in; I know that aside from removing the bolts connecting the lower unit to the midsection, the shift linkage will have to be disconnected... but from where? How do I do this?

Also, is there a certain torque spec for the lower unit to midsection bolts?

Basically, does anyone have or have access to a step by step for this process; removal, replacement & reinstallation? Since it's such a critical part I want to make sure I get it right and don't mess something up. Once I do it once, I'll be comfortable from here on out.

any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance!

What you need is a OMC factory service manual. Available right here in I-Boats. This will also help you out with any other problems you have with the motor in the future.

Thanks Boobie,
I appreciate the link. I saw the Seloc manuals, that had mixed reviews. Seems people either love them or hate them. Are these what you're referring to?
I have a "manual" I downloaded via PDF, but I'm kind of old school and like having paper back Haynes & Chilton Manuals lying around in the garage. Are these Selocs pretty decent?

Seloc and Clymer suck. Get the OMC Manual from Ken Cook in Milwaukee WI. This is an OMC Factory service manual. The same as the dealers have. That's what I have in my shop.

When I click on the link it brings me to the manuals & literature home page, I looked through the 12 pages of the Ken Cook manuals and I saw a couple that cover the 115 but only for older models, nothing up to 1999.
Do you have a part number?
Thanks again for your help.
