My boat was struck by lightning on fathers day. It did start and the tack was working as well as the temp guage. It did not churp nore did the 4 lights count down on the tack as it did befor. I replaced the tack and added a battery guage. Ran the boat last night and the tack did not work neither did the temp. All connections were made as befor except for the battery guage which was new. The battery guage came up to 12 volts when the key was turned, the tack counted down the check lights and churped. I did connect the battery guage to the purple wire comming off of temp.

I m open to suggestions.
thanks James

Apparently it blew the regulator/rectifier as well. It's on the top of the block. The flywheel kinda blocks it's removal, so chances are you'll have to remove that to replace the part. Consider claiming all of that under insurance. It should be covered.

The boat was not on the insurance. They only covered $1000.00 I used it to replace the radio and electronics all the lights and wires. When I started the boat after the storm the tack and temp did work. Could the new tack and battery guage push it over the edge......How much do you think that part will cost?? Could that also make the temp not work as well??
