99 25hp Johnson battery charging kit?

My outboard has a stator that supplies power to lights. Do I only need to get the rectifier? or I would need the complete charging kit? thanks

The kit gives you the wires and stuff to complete the job.

in the kit it has a stator too. Do I need the stator in the charging kit? or mine will do? If.. mine will do, I will just get the rec and wire it myself.

'99 is too new for me to be an expert on, but I believe that since you have the AC lighting you already have the stator. But I could be wrong...again.

Come to think of it I could install a tach too if I get this rectifier to work with my stator.

Since you already have the stator, all you need is a rectifier and hook it up. You aren't expecting a high output from this thing are you? It only puts out a few amps. It's designed to maintain the starting battery and maybe some running lights and fish finder or something like that.

Would the rectifier have a minimum amp input? like if i used a 5amp stator for a 10 rectifier. Don't want to fry a new rectifier. I'm new to outboards, so don't know much about them. thanks again for all your help.

No, only the opposite would be true. That is you don't want to put 10 amps through a 5 amp rectifier.

As for your concern, remember that the stator output varies from zero amps (motor stopped), to full output at wide open throttle. If low output would damage anything, you wouldn't dare slow the motor down to idle. Not to worry, it's OK.
