99 Evinrude 225 - stopped engine

Ran my 225 evinrude (261 hours on the clock) for about 2 hours with no problems when it suddenly stopped dead - no horns, all guages normal. Engine cranks but absolutely no ignition. Any thoughts?

Kill switch unplugged?<br /><br />Carb'd or injected? A model number would help.

Start with the basics. You need Air, Ignition and Fuel to start the motor.<br /><br />Verify that you have ignition, remove a plug wire and test for spark. Verify if you are getting fuel. If you have fuel, then could be timing on the ignition. <br /><br />Mik
