Im replacing my throttle and shift cables on my 99 Johnson 200 with a BRP control box. When I hook up the new cables to the control box, everything is smooth and good. When I hook the cables up to the motor, there is barely enough adjustment on the trunion to hook them up, and when they are hooked up, the brp is super still and will not shift the linkage. It feels like its hitting a stop. When I unhook everything, the brp moves fine and moves the cables. Also, the shift linkage can be shifted by hand, and the throttle moves freely by hand. The issues only happen when the cables are connected to the motor. And yes, the cables are in the right position. Thats already verified. Why did the old cables have so much adjustment and the new ones have almost none? I measured the old against the new and they are exactly the same length. What am i missing or doing wrong?
