ok i have talked a littel bit about this motor im looking at getting, but i need some info if u guys can help me . the motor im looking at is a 99 johnson 150 faststrike. that is what the guy told me on the phone. he said it was manufac tured in november 1998. so that would make it a 99 model right? ok now here is my other question, is a 99 johnson 150 called a faststrike? the guy told me it was a fast strike and it was gray. it is going on a 18 foot javelin 379t. what kind of prop and size do you recommend? this is a used motor not rebuilt by the way. should i worry too much ? thanks

Re: 99 johnson?????

The 60 deegree motors are very good and it is an excellent choice for an 18' rig.

The exact prop will depend on the set up and intended useage. Transom mount - jack plate - set back etc. The target rpm with an average load will be 5800 to 6000.

Good luck!
