Has anyone had any trouble with this motor cutting off during operation. It will restart without a problem. It is happening more frquent. It has 18 hours of operating time on it, and has no other problems.
I'm not familiar with Merc. but when I first got my Johnson it would shut off because the oil line had air in it causing the VRO pump to shut motor off for lack of oil.I just disconnected line at pump and pumped ball until the air was gone. <br /> Brian
YOU NEED TO CHECK YOUR VOLTAGE OUTPUT AT THE RPM THAT THIS HAPPENS I'AM ASSUMING WOT THERE IS CURCUIT IN ECU THAT SHUT OFF DRIVE CIRCUIT TO FUEL PUMP IF THE CHARGING SYSTEM IS OVER CHARGING TO PROTECT THE ECU SHOULD NOT PUT OUT MORE THAN 14.5 VOLTS. ALSO COULD POSSIBLY BE BAD CONNECTION AT MAIN HARNESS CONNECTS TO ENGINE PULL APART AND SLIGHTLY SPREAD PINS AND RE-CONNECT THIS PLUG IS ON STRBD SIDE OF ENGINE NEXT ALL THE ELECTRICAL GOOD LUCK
