99 Merc 75 supposed to beep on RUN?

Got a 99 Tracker 185 with a 99 75 Merc (3cyl, OG866465) that has run great so far. I really have no complaints but was wondering if it should beep when i turn it to run? I've read through some manuals and it looks like it SHOULD, but there is always something that says (if this model has it....) in the manual. The day before I bought this boat I looked at the exact same model from 98 that had a 90hp and it didn't beep either when turning the key to RUN.

More than likely I am just reading myself into paranoia, which is typical of my history with boats. Like I said, boat runs great, uses oil like it should and generally doesn't have any problems. I just want to make sure systems are working in case something happens in the future.

Water could have got in the speaker like mine did I wouldn't worry about it I haven't changed mine and its been five years

My 2002 115 hp does not beep either when i turn key on ,as most do a test and let you know the warning system is working , or as a check of the system and all sensors are working . im sure i searched this before and some models dont have that option but there is a way of checking the sensors , hope fully some one will reply with more knowledge

my 03 115 4 stroke also doesn't beep, I looked into it and it isn't supposed to. A good Idea might be to pull your tether and turn your key on just to make sure your warning horn is working though.

Thanks for the responses guys. I don't believe my motor is supposed to beep. I can ground the horn to see if it's broken, but I'm not terribly concerned.
