The recoil start on my motor quit engaging the flywheel when I pull it, today. You pull the rope and it spins freely, then retracts fine. I took it off, seems that the screw that holds center piece between the two dogs is loose. But, if I tighten it it locks the pull start down and won't spin. Take the screw out and it has a spring under it. Not sure if that is the problem or not.

What is the s/n of your engine? I am sure I have the manual for it and I can send it to you if you provide an email address via PM.

Sounds like perhaps an incorrect bolt has been put in as a replacement. Get yourself a manual that includes this motor, a Seldoc manual may have it. Try online ********** and do a search by HP and serial number for the schematic.
