99 vmax questions

I am looking at a 2000 Skeeter ZX202 and it has a 1999 yamaha vmax 225 on it. I am not very familiar with Yamaha being that all I have had on a boat is a Suzuki or Mariner/Mercury. Is there anything that anyone can help me with to get some knowledge about the motor such as fuel economy (mpg), speed, or anything else good or bad you can tell me about this motor? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you.

This will give you some info on performance, just find a set up like yours
but you will have to wait on someone to answer on the good or bad.

No word on how good or bad these motors are? I've never owned a yamaha so I don't know how they are. I see a lot out on the water and they seem to fun fast and that's about all the good I can say about them. Are they a reliable motor or if I end up getting the boat am I just going to be working on the motor a lot to keep it up? Any opinions would be appreciated.
